Meet 2nd Annual Paraiso Upcycle Challenge Judges

The 2nd Annual Paraiso Upcycle Challenge has a board of judges that we’re super excited about!

JEANNETTE ROGER

Jeannette Roger, the co-owner of Nic del Mar, a burgeoning online and brick and mortar business has been in the swimwear business for over 10 years. Along with selling and buying for the store, Jeannette serves as Nic Del Mar’s creative director and oversees all editorials, look books, and visual merchandising.
“We really try to promote an entire lifestyle with our company,“ explained Jeannette. Nic del Mar became Miami must-stop shop for their hand-picked selections from the leading resort wear and swimwear brands.

FABRICE TARDIEU

Since its inception in 2014, Fabrice Tardieu’s eponymous brand has broken social barriers by expressing creativity through positivity. Fabrice’s signature Graffiti collection of sneakers, slip-ons and boots bear his personal life motto on the soles- “One Battle at a Time, One Day at a Time”, hoping to ignite important social conversations or spread messages of struggle and perseverance. Hand-painted with precision and delicate artistry, Fabrice focuses on quality, design, and craftsmanship throughout his entire shoe line. Fabrice’s artisanal style is defined as “laid-back luxury”. Inspired by the vibrant street-cultures in Miami, New York, London, and Paris.

JENNY STARR PEREZ

Jenny Starr Perez is the editor in chief of INDULGE, Miami’s premier luxury lifestyle magazine. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Miami, Perez has become well known in the publishing industry as a dynamic, multi-faceted innovator and an expert in the luxury marketing niche. After studying at International Fine Arts College in Miami, she began her career at Ocean Drive Media Group as an editorial coordinator, then moved on to become fashion and beauty editor at Niche Media Group.

YANIRA PINEDA

Yanira Pineda is a sustainability specialist in the City of Miami Beach. Greater Miami has been on the frontlines of resilience and sustainability for years, not only solidifying a stand-out reputation for its individual leadership by its government and community leaders, but its distinctive unified approach. The general role of the Environment & Sustainability Department is to protect the environmental equality of the beaches and waterways, as well as enhance the sustainability of governmental operations.

KELLY SAKS

Kelly Saks knows style. Launching the online style diary “Kelly’s Kloset” in 2010 as a means to share her love for fashion and beauty with girlfriends across the web, she has since established herself as Miami’s go-to fashion girl. Nearly a decade later, Kelly boasts a loyal following of women from across the world who not only seek out her signature high-low personal style, but also connect with her real take on everything from beauty to home decor, fitness and travel.

Beyond blogging and social media, Kelly is a bilingual on-air host and fashion correspondent for NBC 6 in the Mix; she has designed multiple jewelry collections with Miami-based Taudrey, and consults for leading brands like Bumble on community partnerships and influencer marketing.
