The Swimwear Industry Working from Home. Office Time with Maaji.

Carolina Fernadez, Maaji Marketing team

This time, Paraiso tagged along with Carolina Fernandez, from the Maaji Marketing Team, for a tour of her WFH office.

P: What went into creating your home workspace setup?

CF: Finding a comfortable space, with a nice view for the creativity to flow. Take advantage and enjoy everything you have at home, in my case - nature.

P: Was there a trial and error period prior to getting it right?

CF: No, I look for balance, that’s the key. Find your right spot where you can be calm and be positive.

P: Are there any desk essentials you can't work without?

CF: Not really, but it’s really important to feel comfortable and to have the right chair, avoiding back pain.

P: How do you stay productive at home?

CF: It’s very important to be organized, to make a list and prioritize.

P: Do you listen to music or watch show while you work?

CF: MUSIC! It is the best way to pump up your energy and be productive. If you want to boost your mood, try checking out “Happy” by Pharrell, it is the perfect song for the times we live in.

“Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah, well, give me all you got, and don’t hold back, yeah, well, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, yeah, no offense to you, don’t waste your time.”

Meanwhile, Susana Restrepo, from the Maaji design team, adapted quite quickly to working from home. For her, the most important aspects of the workspace setup where having a proper internet connection, a desk, and a quiet space to concentrate. She used the guest room as her new home-office as it has a desk and a comfortable chair, and added personal touches like candles, crystals, etc.

Restrepo’s desk essentials are her computer, a notebook to write, draw, and sketch, a pen, and highlighters.

To stay productive at home she creates a to-do checklist to help with prioritizing her tasks, and plan how long each activity will last. She also sets up alarms for each activity that she has to do, including house chores.

Susana’s must is music - the only way for her to concentrate. Currently on her repeat list is Dance Monkey by Tones and I.
